One of my all time favorite subjects to paint is trees. Trees of all kinds. They have as much character as any person I have ever met. I started my drawing quest in the graveyards of Kansas City drawing all day with my mom or grandfather. We would spend hours in a quiet graveyard looking at perspective points and lines in the shapes of the gravestones. Plenty of statues that stay perfectly still for modeling for a sketch. Last but not at all least… Nature. Trees, birds, flowers and rocks… all influenced my work today.

My love for trees started in the graveyards of Kansas City… and I paint those same trees to this day.`
